World of ClaudeCraft
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies when you play World of ClaudeCraft (the "Game"), visit worldofclaudecraft.com (the "Site"), or use our mobile application (the "App"). The Game, Site, and App together are the "Service."
Who we are. The Service is operated by Dream Home AI Limited, trading as Levy Street, New Zealand company number 8703066 ("we," "us," "our"), based in Wellington, New Zealand. We are the data controller for personal information processed through the Service.
By using the Service you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The short version
- You can play the offline browser version without an account and without giving us personal information.
- To play online you create an account with a username and password. Your password is hashed. We do not store it in readable form.
- We store your characters and progress so the world is there when you return.
- Chat, character names, trades, and leaderboard scores are visible to other players. Treat anything you type or name as public.
- We use limited technical data (such as your IP address) to run the servers, stop abuse, and keep the Game secure.
- You can delete your characters and your account at any time.
- We are an independent project and are not affiliated with or endorsed by any third-party company or brand. The $WOC token was created by a third party. See Section 14.
The rest of this Policy gives the detail.
2. Information we collect
Account information. When you register to play online we collect a username and a password. Passwords are stored only as a salted scrypt hash, never in plain text. If you provide an email address at registration or for account recovery, we store it to identify your account and to contact you about the Service.
Character and gameplay data. When you create and play characters we store character names, chosen class, appearance, level, equipment, inventory, quests, position in the world, and in-game currency. This data persists in our database so your progress is saved between sessions.
Chat and social activity. The Game includes chat (general, party, and similar channels), trading, duels, and parties. Messages you send and the social actions you take are transmitted to other players and may be stored on our servers for delivery, moderation, safety, and abuse prevention. Character names and leaderboard scores are shown publicly to other players and on high score and ranking screens.
Technical and log data. When you connect to the Service we automatically receive technical information, including your IP address, device and browser type, operating system, language and display settings, session identifiers, session tokens (which expire after 7 days), connection timestamps, and error and performance logs. We use your IP address to rate-limit sign-in attempts and to detect and prevent abuse.
Optional wallet verification. If you choose to verify a Solana wallet to display holder flair or a player-card badge, we store the public wallet address you provide. This is optional, is used only for cosmetic in-game display, and does not involve any transaction, signature that moves funds, or transfer of SOL. We do not access your private keys and cannot move your funds.
Cookies and local storage. The Site and Game use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in (your session token), remember your settings and preferences (such as language, audio, and control options), and operate core features. You can clear or block these through your browser, but the online Game may not work correctly without them.
Advertising and analytics. We use third-party advertising and analytics providers on the Site and in the App. These providers may set cookies or use device identifiers to measure usage and to serve and measure advertising. They collect information such as device identifiers, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, and interaction data, subject to their own privacy policies. Where required, we ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies or trackers, and we provide a way to manage your choices.
Donations. If you donate through GitHub Sponsors, the payment is processed by GitHub and its payment providers. We do not receive or store your card or bank details. GitHub's privacy policy governs that processing.
Community channels. Our Discord server and our GitHub repository are operated on third-party platforms. Information you share there is governed by those platforms' privacy policies, not this one.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information (such as health, religion, or precise geolocation) through the Service.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Create and maintain your account and authenticate you.
- Run the Game, save your characters and progress, and deliver multiplayer features such as chat, parties, trading, and duels.
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service, including debugging and performance work.
- Prevent, detect, and respond to cheating, fraud, abuse, harassment, and security incidents.
- Moderate user content and enforce our Terms.
- Respond to your support requests and communicate with you about the Service.
- Display optional cosmetic features you choose to enable, such as wallet-linked badges.
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
4. Legal bases for processing (EEA and UK users)
Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on these legal bases:
- Performance of a contract: to provide the Game and your account.
- Legitimate interests: to secure the Service, prevent abuse, and improve the Game, balanced against your rights.
- Consent: for non-essential cookies, advertising, and analytics where consent is required. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: where we must process information to comply with the law.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Other players: character names, chat, trades, party activity, and leaderboard scores are visible to other users as a normal part of an online multiplayer game.
- Service providers: hosting, database, content delivery, and infrastructure providers that run the Service on our behalf, under contracts that limit their use of the data.
- Advertising and analytics partners: if enabled, as described in Section 2.
- Legal and safety: to comply with the law, enforce our Terms, protect the rights, safety, and property of users, the public, or us, and respond to lawful requests.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honour this Policy or notify you of any material change.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this Policy.
- Account and character data: retained for as long as your account remains active, so your characters and progress are preserved, and until you ask us to delete your account. We may close and delete accounts that have been inactive for a long period, but we are not obliged to.
- Chat and moderation records: retained for as long as needed for safety, security, and abuse prevention, generally up to 24 months, then deleted or anonymised.
- Technical and log data: retained for as long as needed to operate and secure the Service and to investigate incidents, generally up to 24 months.
- Backups: residual copies may persist in encrypted backups for a limited period before they are overwritten.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of these rights:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your information.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Receive a copy of your information in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent where we rely on it.
New Zealand: under the Privacy Act 2020 you may request access to and correction of your personal information.
EEA and UK: you have the GDPR rights listed above and may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California: under the CCPA and CPRA you may request to know, delete, and correct your personal information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
To exercise any right, contact us using Section 13. We may need to verify your identity before we act.
8. Deleting your account and data
You can delete individual characters in the Game using the delete option on the character screen. To delete your entire account and associated personal information, use the account deletion option in the Game or App, or contact us using Section 13. We will action verified deletion requests within a reasonable time, subject to legal retention requirements. Some residual data may remain in backups for a limited period as described in Section 6.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and you must be at least 13 to create an account (or older where your country sets a higher minimum age for online services, such as 16 in some EEA states). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the applicable minimum age. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us using Section 13 and we will delete it.
10. International data transfers
We are based in New Zealand and may process your information in New Zealand and in other countries, including where our service providers operate. These countries may have different data protection laws than yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.
11. How we protect information
We use technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including salted scrypt password hashing, encrypted connections (TLS and secure WebSockets), per-IP rate limiting on authentication, and session tokens that expire after 7 days. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Third-party services and links
The Service links to and integrates third-party services, including GitHub, GitHub Sponsors, Discord, and the Solana network. These services are controlled by others and have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices. Review their policies before using them.
